Mini Tipi Workshop: Engineering Focus
FOCUS: Indigenous Ways of Knowing / Engineering / Mathematics / Design / Art
In the engineering focus, participants will be working on the setting up of the tipi. May include design based on duration (Colouring/painting is done post-workshop) or other aspects of engineering that affect strenght and airflow. Includes history, geography, social studies, symbology and some language use.
Grade/unit: All ages and grades. Bernouli's principle demo available.
School supplies needed: markers or paints/brushes/water. Canvas painting/design is done separately in class post this workshop.
Provided materials: prepared tipi canvases, other tipi kit supplies. Outcome: an unpainted tipi set up.
DURATION: 1 to 1.5 hour / class
COST: $200.00 presenter + presenter travel outside of Calgary
$150.00 / class for multiple sessions in one location on one day
$20 / kit / youth (Indigenous youth in attendance are free.)
