STEAM of the Tipi

FOCUS - Indigenous Ways of Knowing / engineering / traditional teachings / mathematics / design / art

Reconciliation through Reciprocity.  In this workshop based on Two-Eyed Seeing, adults learn about Indigenous people through the tipis of Cree, Nakoda/Lakoda and Blackfoot people and through the language of STEM.  This workshop can be fun and social as well as a chance to learn alot about the people who had tipis for their homes. Whenever possible, this workshop is given by an Indigenous facilitator. Create and Design your own tipi. Painting and colouring are optional depending on total time*.  


DURATION: 1.5*-3 HOUR SESSION IN PERSON or ON LINE


SIZE: Minimum of 20 people. 


COST: $60 per participant including a mini tipi per participant (canvas, poles, string, toothpicks) within local locations. For large on line sessions, or sessions at a distance, kits can be shipped to your location(s) + shipping and handling. Pricing can be based on Lecture + Kits for locations where more than 1 person will work on 1 tipi. 


Everyone receives a canvas, poles, string, toothpicks.  Paint options are acrylic paints or coloured markers (*depends on alotted time) or painting is done after the workshop.
